General Office is a comprehensive section of
ACLA. Its main functions are to onvey and
reflect officers' decisions from Ministry of
Justice and ACLA, contact and xchange information
with local lawyers associations; to
prepare and organize meetings for presidents,
executive councils and secretary generals; to
process ACLA's documents and files; to collect
membership fees, prepare budget and final
accounts and other financial management
as taxation and statistics; and to deal with
other management and service work as
personnel, communist party affairs and
logistics, etc.
Information and Research Section
Information and Research Section is the research
department on issues relating to development
and reform of legal profession. Its
main functions are to do research on the topics
as bar management, reform and strategical
development of legal profession; to review
and make practice code and bar management
system; to forward proposals on legal
system and development of legal profession
to relevant agencies; to be responsible
for association's promoting, information collection
and publication; to edit "Chinese Lawyers'
Yearbook" and to set up association's
information network.
Section on Law Committees
Section on Law Committees is a section
working for the law committees under ACLA. Its main functions are to carry out working
plans of different committees; to coordinate
and assist law committees to promote research
and exchanges based on different practice
areas of different committees; to organize
members to forward proposals in the
field of state judiciary and law enforcement;
to organize drafting of code of practice and
bar management system; to summarize and
exchange working experiences in order to
improve the practice quality of members.
Training Section
Training Section is a section which gives
guidance, studies and implements the
training work of ACLA. Its main functions
are to make educational outline for lawyers
based on the need of lawyers; to give
guidance to local lawyers associations on
training which are linked with lawyers
practice, such as pre-post training, continuing
legal education, academic
education, etc.; to work out training outline
and text books for apprentice lawyers;
to hold high-level training sessions by
demonstration and circuit lectures by experts
in order to update lawyers knowledge
and improve their practice skills.
Membership Section
Membership Section is a section for managing
members. Its main functions are to support
lawyers practice in accordance with law;
to protect the lawful rights of members; to
improve practice protection system; to be responsible
for education, inspection on and supervision
over lawyers professional ethics and
discipline; to handle complains to members;
to give awards or punishment to members;
to set up professional indemnity insurance
system; to give guidance on law firm management
and capacity building of local lawyers
associations; to develop welfare for
lawyers.
International Section
International Section is a section for ACLA's
international exchanges. Its main functions
are to organize lawyers to participate conferences
of international lawyers organizations
and international law seminars; to organize
oversea training for members; to be responsible
for exchange programs between Chinese
lawyers and their foreign counterparts and for
international promotion of Chinese legal
profession.
Editorial Department of "ChineseLawyers"
It is the promoting section for ACLA. Its main
functions are to publicize the monthly journal
"Chinese Lawyers", to manage website
www.acla.org.cn ( which is the official ACLA
website) and to coordinate with news, media
and cultural departments for better promotion
of legal profession.
Chinese Lawyers Website
The Chinese lawyers website is the official
website of ACLA. It aims to be the publicizing
spot of ACLA; the internet of Chinese
lawyers; the theoretic front of legal experts;
teachers and friends of law students and
sword of rights safeguarding for citizens.
Its main functions are to carry out working
